The old saying, “The road to Hell is paved with good intentions”, is quite accurate. There are many times where we think we are helping but, in reality, we are causing them more harm. Not that we shouldn’t help. However, before trying to help someone determine if you are really helping them or making ourselves feel better. Helping is about empathizing and understanding others. Not about showing how wonderful you are.
