Answered Prayers

Many people turn to pray to help them out of a situation or to cause harm to others.  They want something.  Prayer is not a giving of thanks but a service to be performed by a deity. What if, what answered your prayers, was not something that you wanted but something that you deserved.  Would you still pray if the result was something from your nightmares and not from your dreams?
