Hi! I’m Dougie (Doug Hoppes). I’m a dark fantasy illustrator (oil painter) and the creator of the Gallery of Nightmares.
The Gallery of Nightmares is a collection of paintings, each with an uplifting story/meaning. The gallery has a very special room called the Shadow Nook, and within it, the viewer magically becomes part of the terrifying world of Sythmora.
About The Gallery of Nightmares
I am Death.
I am the one who created the universe.
I am the one who destroyed the universe.
Each cycle, I wake, create those I need to learn from, and, when it is time, I return to my slumber as I destroy all around me.
During the cycle, I feed on the emotions of all living life, and when it is done, I use that knowledge to decide what must be done for the next cycle.
The world of Sythmora is one of my many playgrounds.
The Gallery of Nightmares and the entity, Sythra, who holds a small part of my presence, is one of my anchor points in this universe.
Hear the stories of the people of this world and feel their anguish as I consume their emotions.
